Vapur Foldable Water Bottles

If one universal trend can be seen in entrepreneurship through every industry, it is a shift towards being more “green” and eco-friendly. There are hundreds of new start-ups whose main point of differentiation is that they are more “eco-friendly” than their competitors. Vapur is one such company.

Vapur manufactures reusable plastic water bottles that can fit inside one’s pockets. The concept is simple. Instead of constantly using packaged bottled water or lugging around a traditional water bottle, Vapur is a reusable product that compresses when empty to that it fits into your pocket for easy transport.

This feature makes it especially convenient when working out or “on the go”. The bottle is also economically priced at under $10.

Here is the description from the company:

Vapur is the first flexible water bottle designed to fit in your pocket, purse, backpack or briefcase. Unlike rigid water bottles that are full of hot air when empty, Vapur can be rolled, folded or flattened and tucked away. This means it goes more places and fits in tighter spaces than any other bottle.

You can purchase one here.

It’s interesting that even with the “environmentally friendly” label being a big push, there’s also cost and convenience savings in many cases as well.

I agree ED, I think the movement is less about eco and more about making all around smarter products. I am one of the designers on this project and can tell you that we really wanted to think about what would make sense for a variety of reasons. I think there are so many interesting bi-products of designing smarter products. Lower cost, Impact on the Environment, Sustainability, etc… Thanks for the comment!
