Why I Love Phone Calls

E-Mails are slow. It takes forever to get anything done. There is too much waiting involved. The time it takes for a conversation to take place via e-mail is ridiculous. From sending a message, waiting for a response, replying, waiting for a response, etc., it can take days or even weeks. This is why I love phone calls.

Phone calls are quick. They are easy. They allow conversations that would take days to complete via e-mail to happen in minutes. Phone calls also guarantee a response. E-Mails can be ignored but when you call someone they have no choice but to give you an answer. This is especially helpful when pitching to anyone with any sort of authority.

Personally, I am not a big fan of talking on the phone. There is just something about not being able to see the person who I am hearing on the other hand that I don’t like. It is far more convenient and effortless to communicate via e-mail. However, when it comes to making initial contact with someone, I have found that actually taking the time to call them if the most effective way to get what you want. Once you have made contact, then you can talk via e-mail or other platforms. After all, it will get annoying if you keep calling the person for every little thing.

So my final advice is this; When you need to get something done fast, make the call. Once you have made contact with the other person, you can communicate via e-mail or IM.

I could not agree with you more. I have been sending emails out to people in high positions to write for my website and I am just ignored. It is so difficult to find these people’s contact information though. Do you have any suggestions on how to find their phone numbers or email addresses?

Try and find their company phone number, its usually listed on the corporate website…otherwise its a bit more difficult if people dont publish it online…but whenever you have the chance to call, call…just make sure to check timezones
